SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Department of Corrections has reported that a third inmate has died after contracting the coronavirus at the state prison. The Salt Lake Tribune reported that the 50-year-old man was the youngest inmate in Utah to die after testing positive for COVID-19. He was originally hospitalized Oct. 12 and died on Saturday. Department officials say two other inmates at the Draper lockup have died. A 70-year-old man died last week and an 82-year-old man died earlier this month. Officials say both were housed in the Oquirrh facility at the state prison complex, where the most vulnerable inmates live. The third inmate was housed at the Wasatch facility.
