DRAPER, Utah (AP) — The Utah Department of Corrections has reported that an inmate died after an altercation with another inmate at the Utah State Prison in Draper. KUTV-TV reported that the altercation occurred Monday night at the prison’s Oquirrh Facility. Corrections officials said the family of the dead inmate was notified, but that they would not release either inmates’ name. The Utah State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident. Authorities do not believe the death was related to COVID-19. No further information was immediately released.
