Utah Soldier Dies In Alaska Helicopter Crash

(Fairbanks, AK) — A Utah soldier has been identified as one of the three men who died in a helicopter crash in Alaska. The U.S. Army says 32-year-old Stewart Wayment of North Logan died Thursday when an Apache helicopter collided with another helicopter south of Fairbanks. Thirty-nine-year-old Christopher Eramo of New York and 28-year-old Kyle McKenna of Colorado also died in the crash. Their commander says members of their battalion are “devastated” and “mourning the loss of three of our best.” Army Chief of Staff James McConville ordered all Army aviators grounded for additional training unless they are on critical missions.
