(Davis County, UT) — A controversy is brewing in Utah’s Davis County School District where the Bible is being reviewed after a parent challenged the book under a state law passed last year. The petition to pull the book from the school library argues that the Bible is pornographic under the new law and that it offers no serious value to minors. State lawmakers crafted a measure last year that allows parents to challenge books with explicit sexual content and have them removed from school libraries. The school district north of Salt Lake City says a review committee will read the Bible from cover to cover to determine whether it should be removed.
