(Salt Lake City, UT) — State officials are voicing growing concerns about the threat of wildfires in Utah this summer. Experts say a wet winter had caused more vegetation growth than usual, and with a hot and dry summer in the forecast, that vegetation will become wildfire fuel once it dries out. The Bureau of Land Management says conditions appear similar to 2012 and 2020; both years that saw devastating wildfires in Utah. Officials are asking you to be careful on the state’s public lands this summer.
