(Salt Lake City, UT) – Utah officials are convinced that dams around the state are safe. State engineers say they are constantly looking for any signs of cracks or deterioration and believe there is no danger to people living near any Utah dam. The question of dam safety has been growing this week after a spillway problem at a California dam caused the evacuation of thousands of people. State engineers believe any dam could have problems in extreme weather, but say Utah dams are showing no serious issues.Â
