Utah officials investigate house fire after woman found dead

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities are investigating a house fire in northern Utah after a woman was found dead inside the burned building.
Fire Marshal Joe White says the woman was trapped inside the home on Monday morning, but it wasn’t clear what kept her from escaping the fire.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/2rMnVsc) that officials are treating the fire as a possible arson, which is standard for this type of incident. Officials have also brought in an accelerant-sniffing dog to help with the investigation.
Ashley Block says her grandmother died in the fire after living in the house for many years. She says her grandmother was “amazing,” and worries that someone may have taken advantage of her generosity.
