(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah officials are offering their prayers and condolences following a mass shooting that left at least five people dead at an LGBTQ club in southern Colorado. Governor Cox said in a statement yesterday that he and his wife Abby were deeply saddened by the shooting in Colorado Springs and pleaded for kindness and unity. Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson said she was devastated by the shooting and condemned violence directed at the LGBTQ community. Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall called the shooting horrific and said the city is mourning alongside everyone in Colorado Springs. Several vigils to remember the victims were held in Utah last night.
