(Salt Lake City, UT) — For the first time in three years, none of Utah’s 29 counties are categorized with ‘extreme’ or ‘exceptional’ drought conditions. The constant snow storms are beginning to have a noticeable effect on water levels in the Beehive State. Now just 20 percent of the state is classified as in ‘severe drought,’ with some portions of the state losing their drought designation entirely. At its worst, 98 percent of the state suffered from ‘exceptional’ drought conditions in August 2021. The season’s sustained snowfall continues to break longstanding state records for precipitation.
