Utah man charged with assault in face mask confrontation

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah man is facing an assault charge after police said he punched a restaurant customer who asked him to wait outside because he was not wearing a mask. Jonathan Crocker was charged with the misdemeanor after police responded to a report last month of an assault at Cafe Rio in the Salt Lake City suburb of Cottonwood Heights. Court records say Crocker told a customer who asked him to step back from employees or go outside to mind his own business then punched the customer in the face. In a call with police Crocker denied punching the customer and said he felt he was being harassed.
