(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Legislature enters the final week of the regular session today with a bit of work still to do. The biggest piece of legislation still needing a vote is the so-called “Bill of Bills,” otherwise known as the state budget. The Executive Appropriations Committee advanced the 24-billion-dollar bill on Friday. It’s the largest state budget in Utah history thanks to federal stimulus dollars and a surplus due to tax collections. Lawmakers have passed more than 230 of the nearly 800 bills and resolutions filed during the current session, which ends Friday.
