(Washington, DC) — Utah lawmakers are supporting a measure in Congress that would protect same-sex marriage in the United States. All four of Utah’s Republican House members voted in favor of the Respect for Marriage Act yesterday. Congressman John Curtis released a statement saying he understood that many Utahns were concerned about recent decisions made by the U.S. Supreme Court and that the federal government should not infringe on decisions related to marriage. The bill passed by more than 100 votes and will now go to the Senate.
