Utah Lawmakers Take No Action On Demand For Election Audit

(Salt Lake City, UT) — State lawmakers are not ready to audit the results of the 2020 general election in Utah. The legislature’s Judiciary Committee held a three-hour hearing yesterday to discuss doing an audit of last year’s election. A large group of audit supporters and some state lawmakers testified that they have doubts about the security of Utah’s mail-in ballot system. But Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson testified that the state has extremely secure elections, pointing to public audits that show a lack of any voting fraud. The committee took no action following the hearing.
