(Salt Lake City, UT) — There is apparently support in the legislature for a measure regulating when Utah kids can go trick-or-treating. A state Senate committee voted unanimously in favor of a resolution yesterday that recommends that Halloween be celebrated on the last Friday in October. The sponsor of the bill says it would end debate on whether trick-or-treating should happen if Halloween falls on a weekday night. Lawmakers settled on Friday rather than Saturday because it would allow children to wear their Halloween costumes to school if they are allowed.
