(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers will take another run at a proposed law to crack down on ritualistic sexual abuse. The legislature’s Interim Judiciary Committee heard testimony about the plans yesterday. State Rep. Ken Ivory tried to move the proposal earlier this year, but failed to get much support. Lawmakers yesterday said they feel sorry for the victims in these cases, but don’t know how they can make kidnapping and sexual assault even more illegal than it already is.
