(Washington, DC) — Utah lawmakers are responding to charges being placed against former President Donald Trump. Utah Republican Senator Mike Lee tweeted that the prosecution is not justice but rather using the law selectively for political gain. He added that it was a disgrace and would bring negative changes to the U.S. Republican Senator Mitt Romney noted that he felt Trump was unfit to hold office, but agreed with Lee that the prosecution was politically motivated. Trump pleaded not guilty yesterday to nearly three-dozen charges connected to alleged hush money payments made before the 2016 election.
