Utah Lawmakers Passed Record Number Of Bills During Session

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers set a new record for bills passed during the 45-day session that ended last week. An online database maintained by a political science professor at BYU shows that the legislature passed 575 bills during the session. They also set a new record by introducing 929 bills during the session. The database also shows that lawmakers spent less time considering bills, with the House spending just 65 hours debating measures during the session. That’s a decrease of ten hours from the previous year.
