(Washington, DC) — Governor Spencer Cox says a governor should be the Republican nominee for president in 2024. On NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday Cox said he’d choose a governor over a candidate from Congress “every day of the week.” Cox said governors tend to be more pragmatic due to their obligation to, as he put it, “get stuff done.” Cox said, however, that if the GOP White House nominee next year is a governor it won’t be him. The governor said he’ll be running for re-election in 2024.
