(Salt Lake City, UT) — People attending Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s speech at the Utah Republican State Convention later this month will be allowed to bring in guns if they have a concealed carry permit. The Utah GOP said on Tuesday that magnetometers will be used for the April 22nd convention at Utah Valley University in Orem as part of heightened security for DeSantis’s appearance. Utah GOP Chairman Carson Jorgensen said on Tuesday magnetometer will be used and bags will be searched as part of what he called a need for thorough security at the event.
