(Utah County, UT) — Utah fire officials are urging caution as the open burning season gets started later this week. Mountain Green Fire Protection District Chief Briann Brendel says it’s important for Utahns to get a burn permit before attempting any type of agricultural or controlled burning. Brendel says the permit gives instructions on how to properly conduct such a burn and who to call before getting started. Seven Utah counties have already started issuing spring burn permits, and the rest will begin doing so on Wednesday.
