Sevier County officials confirmed the identity Wednesday of a Utah Division of Wildlife Resources employee after his death in a rollover crash Tuesday.
According to Wildlife officials, hatchery specialist Jared Baker died from injuries he suffered in the crash.
Sevier County Sheriff Nate Curtis said emergency responders were sent to the rollover at 1190 North State Street in Sigurd, Utah at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses told deputies that the truck Baker was driving left the roadway, overcorrected, and flipped. Curtis said the truck landed on its cab. This kept EMTs from pulling Baker from the truck until Richfield City firefighters were able to extricate him from the vehicle.
Curtis said Baker was wearing a seat belt but Baker died from the “Significant injuries [he] sustained in the crash.â€
Since the vehicle involved in the crash belonged to the Utah Department of Natural Resources, the Utah Highway Patrol asked the Sheriff’s Office to investigate the incident.
