A former Spring City man made an initial appearance in 6th District Court in Manti on Oct. 26 on child sex abuse charges related to incidents as far back as 25 years ago. David Hamblin, age 68 now a resident of Utah County, was charged with one count of rape of a child, three counts of sodomy on a child and two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child by a person in a position of trust. All incidents covered in the charges occurred in Sanpete County.

Back on Sept. 28, Hamblin was arrested in Utah County and charged with three counts of sodomy on a child, two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and one count or rape of a child. Sanpete county attorney Kevin Daniels shared he feels the charges so far could be just the tip of a giant iceberg.
