(St. George, UT) — Utah university presidents can no longer receive their salary after they resign if they’re accused of serious misconduct. The Board of Higher Education voted last week to get rid of a perk that previously allowed college presidents that resign to keep receiving their salary for up to a year. The new policy only allows presidents to continue receiving pay if they aren’t being credibly accused of serious misconduct. The perk recently drew controversy after former Utah Tech President Richard Williams was allowed to keep getting paid after resigning amid allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment. Williams has since become the president of Missouri State University.
