Utah Begins Emergency Effort To Feed Wildlife Due To Snow

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state of Utah is beginning an emergency effort to protect wildlife that can’t get to normal food sources due to snow. The Division of Wildlife Resources has begun an emergency deer feeding program in parts of Rich and Summit counties. Biologists and volunteers are spreading feed in 11 areas in hopes of keeping the animals alive until spring. The agency says the snowy winter has led to an increasing number of deer, elk and moose wandering through Utah neighborhoods looking for food.
