UPDATE: Fire in Spanish Fork Canyon 20 percent contained

Fire managers have the Tank Hollow Fire in Spanish Fork Canyon 20 percent contained. The fire has reached over four thousand acres.

According to a news release from the Great Basin Incident Management Team 6, the fire is holding well.

Fire managers and crews are working to prevent the fire from spreading to homes along Highway 6. They’re constructing fire barrier lines and creating temporary water sources of the Tie Creek Road. This will reduce the time for helicopters delivering water to the fire from Strawberry Reservoir.

Six helicopters are working on the fire as well as 256 fire managers.

Sheep Creek and Indian Creek Ridge roads remain open to the public.
