UHP Arrests 2, Seizes 22 Pounds Of Meth In I-15 Stop Near Cedar City

(Cedar City, UT) — Two men are in custody after Utah Highway Patrol troopers found a large amount of drugs during a traffic stop near Cedar City. Troopers booked the 26- and 27-year-old men after finding 22 pounds of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and other drugs in their car after stopping them on I-15 near Cedar City on Monday. Authorities say the meth was hidden in the rear quarter panels, behind the carpet. Troopers also found a bag with about a half-pound of fentanyl pills, and small amounts of cocaine and marijuana. When they were interviewed by police, the men reportedly admitted they were paid to haul the drugs from California to Salt Lake City.
