UDOT To Begin Road Prep Today As Winter Storm Moves In

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Department of Transportation is putting all of its road crews on full alert ahead of another big winter storm. A spokesman for UDOT says crews will begin pretreating roads later today as the storm system moves across the Wasatch Front. UDOT expects travel tonight and tomorrow morning to be difficult, with more than three-feet of snow expected in some areas. The agency could also close the Cottonwood Canyons at some point to do avalanche prevention work. The Utah Highway Patrol is also adding more troopers to the schedule over the next two days, though drivers are being urged to stay off the roads until they are cleared.
