UDOT to begin project on Manti Main Street

The Utah Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin a resurfacing and lane widening project on Main Street in Manti on Monday, May 1. The project will start at 100 East on the north end of town and continue to 100 West on the south end of town. The $1.725 million project will widen Main Street by 7 feet at the curve across the street from 500 North. A new sidewalk will be installed, and a new drainage system will be constructed, eliminating the water problem that has plagued the curve in the past. Finally, Main Street will be rotomilled, and the pavement will be replaced. According to UDOT, the first phase of the project will be complete by June 10, just in time for opening night of the Mormon Miracle Pageant on June 15. A second coat of pavement and final lane striping will be done on July 21.

There will be lane restrictions at certain times during the construction. For more information, visit udot.utah.gov.
