(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Department of Transportation says the ongoing winter storm will make it very difficult to drive in some areas over the next two days. UDOT announced the overnight closure of Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon yesterday to conduct avalanche mitigation due to the storm. The closures may be extended depending on conditions. Rocky Mountain Power has also warned customers about outages and says crews are on standby to deal with them as quickly as possible.
