On Sep. 26 there was a UTV crash near the peak of Monroe Mountain. According to Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis, the driver was Troy Hazelip, age 51 from Arizona and his passenger was 34 year old Everett Rodriguez.

According to Curtis, Hazelip was backing up to take a picture and the rear passenger tire went over the edge of some loose gravel causing the side by side to fall down the face of a cliff.

The side by side was caught up in the trees below the cliff. Air med was called in and flew out Hazelip while Rodriguez was taken by local ambulance to the hospital. Both individuals are believed to be in stable condition.
