Two people were killed and a third seriously injured when a car was hit by a train near Mona.
Jacob Michael Cottle, age 22, of La Plata, Maryland, was driving a small car eastbound on Burraston Road about 5 p.m. on June 20 when it was hit by a Union Pacific train traveling north at the intersection.
According to the Juab County Sheriff’s Office, Cottle was taken to Utah Valley Medical Center in Critical Condition. His passengers, Cassandra Brielle Hatch, age 22, of Gilbert Arizona and Tanner Ryan Davies, age 22, of Spanish Fork were both killed in the crash.
