Two Big Game Animals Left to Waste in Beaver County

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is asking for the public’s help in locating the individuals responsible for two big game animals that were left to waste in Beaver County.

An elk was left near North Creek Road sometime between Oct. 15 and 17, a buck that had been left to waste in the Bald Hills south of Beaver City was investigated Oct. 17.

Only the head, hide and entrails were removed from the elk while on the buck only the antlers and backstraps were removed. According to the DWR, even if wildlife is harvested legally, allowing it to waste without attempting to harvest any meat is illegal and a class B misdemeanor.

Anyone with information about the illegal wasting of these animals is asked to contact DWR Officer Jeremy Butler at (435) 310-0238.
