Trump Calls Himself A ‘Wartime President.’ He Promises ‘Total Victory.’

WASHINGTON-Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump, during Wednesday’s press briefing to the nation at the White House, spoke concerning how the federal government is responding to COVID-19.

Trump again referred to the malady as the “Chinese virus” and called himself “a wartime president.”

Trump announced the invocation of the Defense Production Act “just in case we need it” during his remarks.

Trump confirmed two hospital ships are being sent, ‘Mercy’ and ‘Comfort,’ saying they are in “tip-top shape.”

Trump also stated the self swab is to be implemented in terms of testing for the coronavirus. He confirmed a health professional will do this, but it will be easier to do than the current process.

Trump also earnestly defended his usage of the term “Chinese virus,” saying he wanted to be accurate because it originated in China.

Furthermore, in a joint statement between Trump and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, the border between the two neighboring nations will be closed to “non-essential traffic” by “mutual consent.”

During this briefing, Trump revealed that he would again address the nation and share “very important news from the FDA.”

The White House also proposed a $1 trillion economic stimulus package, including a measure directly sending checks to Americans.

National Institutes of Health of the United States immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci said “it will take several weeks and maybe longer” until it is known if the nation is effectively combating COVID-19.

Fauci reminded Americans that if they adhere to the instructions given unto them “we’re going to see a hump instead of a peak.”
