(Salt Lake City, UT) — The family of a woman killed at Arches National Park is seeking more than 100-million dollars in damages from the U.S. government. The woman from Uganda was killed in 2020 when wind blew the park’s gate into the path of her rental car. A five-day trial over the claims in the lawsuit will begin in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City today. The family had originally filed a claim seeking nearly 300-million dollars in damages from the government.
