(Salt Lake City, UT) — Elections are now scheduled to replace the lawmaker who represents most of southern Utah. Governor Spencer Cox’s office announced last week there will be primary elections to fill Representative Chris Stewart’s seat on September 5th, which will then be followed by a general election on November 21st. Cox issued two proclamations concerning the elections, with one of them calling on the legislature to meet Wednesday to address election-related matters. Stewart announced he was resigning from his Second Congressional District seat effective September 15th. The district includes Salt Lake City, St. George, Cedar City, and more.
