Swastika found scratched into Salt Lake City Jewish center

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police are investigating after a swastika was found scratched into the door of a Jewish community center in Salt Lake City. Chabad Jewish Community Center Synagogue Rabbi Avremi Zippel tells KSL-TV that the symbol isn’t something one expects to see 2021 and conveys a violent, hateful message to Jewish people. Salt Lake City police says surveillance footage of the front of the synagogue’s building shows a person scratching the swastika into the door around 2 a.m., but the video is too dark to see clearly. Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
