(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state is setting aside 33-million dollars to help Utah communities deal with flooding. Governor Cox convened the Legislature yesterday to address the consequences of record snowpack and flooding that could be on the way. Lawmakers moved 20-million dollars from the Department of Transportation’s construction budget to maintenance for highway construction and repair. Ten-million dollars is now earmarked for state and local infrastructure improvements, and the Department of Public Safety now can use three-million dollars from the state disaster recovery restricted account.
