(Salt Lake City, UT) — A state senator is being suspended by the Utah Democratic Party over allegations that he sexually harassed a former intern. The party’s executive director said in a statement late Friday that Senator Gene Davis has been suspended from all state party activities. The statement said the party asked Davis to resign, but he refused. It also said the party had limited power to act because there has been no official complaint against Davis. The Utah Senate is conducting an investigation of the senator’s behavior following the accusation by the former intern.
