(Salt Lake City, UT) — A state representative who has encouraged an audit of Utah’s last election is resigning his position. Representative Stephen Christiansen of West Jordan announced his immediate resignation from the legislature in a letter sent to House Speaker Brad Wilson. Christiansen said his conservative views have spurred personal attacks on members of his family, which led to his decision to step down. The Salt Lake County Republican Party will pick a replacement for Christiansen.
