(Salt Lake County, UT) — Utah state and fire officials are pleading with the public to take extra precautions to prevent wildfires. Executive Director Brian Steed of the Utah Department of Natural Resources was among the state officials who met at Little Dell Reservoir yesterday to discuss wildfire prevention. Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson said dry conditions are setting the state up for a difficult fire season. Henderson said human-caused wildfires decreased by 51-percent in 2021 thanks to prevention efforts. She urged Utahns to continue efforts such as keeping campfires inside designated rings and putting fires completely out before leaving a campsite.
