(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah political leaders are looking for someone to help guide efforts to save the Great Salt Lake. Governor Cox, House Speaker Brad Wilson and Senate President J. Stuart Adams interviewed several candidates for the position of Great Salt Lake Commissioner yesterday. Wilson tells that he was impressed with the candidates and that a hiring decision should happen in the next few days. The Utah Senate would have to approve the selected candidate. The new commissioner would have the power to overrule water decisions made by state agencies in order to protect and preserve the lake.
