State Asks Court To Dismiss Suit Over Marriage To Computer

(Salt Lake City, UT)  –  The Utah Attorney General’s Office is asking a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit in which a man asks for the right to marry his computer.  State attorneys filed a motion Tuesday contending the lawsuit is asking the court for rights that are not guaranteed under the Constitution.  Plaintiff Chris Sevier filed the lawsuit against Utah’s governor, the attorney general and a county clerk who refused to issue him the license to marry his computer.  Showing a little humor, the motion also contends that Sevier’s computer is too young to consent to marriage since the machine isn’t 15-years-old.Â
