On July 8, at 11:36 p.m. authorities in Richfield received a 911 call reporting a double stabbing and shooting in Central Valley.
The caller, 75-year-old Margo Evans, was in obvious panic as she reported her husband, 75-year-old Charles Evans, was being stabbed by her grandson, 28-year-old Wade Evans. Right after the call, Margo was attacked by Wade.
As she was being attacked, Charles was able to get a handgun and shoot Wade multiple times. This gave Charles and Margo time to leave the residence, get in their vehicle, and drive to the neighbor’s house and then call back reporting the shooting and their location.
When deputies arrived, they found them in their vehicle bleeding from multiple stab wounds. The neighbors were tending to their wounds until EMT’s arrived on scene.
Deputies went to the home and found Wade in the home covered in blood. Deputies were able to take Wade into custody and had an ambulance respond to the scene where Wade was taken to the hospital for his wounds.
Charles and Margo received multiple stab and defensive wounds during the incident. They were both transported to hospitals on the Wasatch Front for medical care. As of the evening of July 10, they appear to be in critical, but stable, condition.
Wade is currently under medical care for his injuries. He is also in serious, but stable, condition. He has been living with his grandparents for several years. The investigation is ongoing.
