St. George Veteran Celebrates 100 Years

(St. George, UT) — A St. George veteran who trained as a tank destroyer during World War Two celebrated his 100th birthday this week. Bud Duane Dunn was born in the tiny town of Joseph, south of Richfield, and was in the University of Utah’s first graduating class of pharmacy. He was drafted into the Army in 1942. In 1955 he started a pharmacy that his family owned for 55 years and he raised Arabian horses on his ranch near Park City before retiring to Southern Utah 30 years ago. He and his wife had a daughter and three sons and eleven grandchildren.
