Spring City woman still in hospital following accident

A Spring City woman is still in intensive care at a Provo hospital following a traffic accident that left her without the use of her legs. Marjorie Monnett, 69, wife of Spring City Mayor Jack Monnett, is conscious and recovering at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. On Friday, August 18, the vehicle Marjorie was driving impacted a garbage truck on US 89 at Gunnison Reservoir Road. The resulting collision demolished Monnett’s vehicle, and she was LifeFlighted to the hospital with crushed and fractured vertebra, as well as a concussion. Surgery replaced the crushed vertebrae, and she has some reflexive action in her legs at this time.
