Spencer Cox Visits Manti Saturday

MANTI, Utah-Saturday afternoon, while ambitiously visiting 11 communities throughout the day, Spencer Cox, a candidate for the governorship of Utah, stopped by the Sanpete County Jail in Manti to meet with community members.

Cox and his wife, Abby Palmer Cox, were joined by their contingent, including Spencer Cox’s father, Eddie Cox, a prominent Sanpete County resident and his campaign manager, Austin Cox as they toured the Sanpete County Jail.

The tour was led by Sanpete County Sheriff Brian Nielson, with select Sanpete County Sheriff’s office representatives and Gunnison City chief of police Brett McCall also assisting.

While there, those on the tour saw where the prisoners have their chapel, where their meals are prepared, where fingerprints are taken and several other important areas not generally seen by the public.

At the end of the tour, Spencer Cox, Nielson and a young boy on the tour were able to place the “Manti sticker” on the back of the Cox for Governor van that is touring all 248 of Utah’s communities.

After leaving Manti, Spencer Cox’s contingent went to Das Cafe in Spring City. Throughout the rest of the evening, they visited the Wales Town Hall, the Fountain Green Dance Hall, the Moroni City Hall and Contoy House Arena in Mt. Pleasant.
