Special Session Bill Would Block Employers From Firing Unvaccinated Workers

(Salt Lake City, UT) — A bill introduced as part of today’s special session of the Utah Legislature could prevent employers from firing unvaccinated workers. The bill introduced by State Senator Kirk Cullimore would bar companies from terminating or refusing to hire workers based on their vaccination status. Cullimore’s bill would allow companies to transfer workers to other duties if they are unvaccinated. Governor Cox has indicated that he would veto any bill that blocks private employers from creating their own vaccine policies.
