(Cedar City, UT) — Southern Utah University is not issuing a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for students. University officials say it’s a complicated issue, and due to the added complexities and additional conversations, they have determined it would not be prudent to implement a vaccine requirement for students. However, they added that this is an evolving pandemic so they will continue to evaluate everything and engage with public health officials and their campus community. The university still encourages students, faculty and staff to get the shot and for everyone on campus to wear masks indoors to keep the university open and the campus safe.
