South Monroe Prescribed Fire Project started over the weekend

Ignition for the South Monroe Prescribed Fire Project began Sunday Nov. 3.

Ignition areas for the fire include Langdon Mountain, Big Table, and Bean Hill.

The Richfield Ranger District says they plan to burn 1,200-2,000 acres on the project located in Piute County.

Hand ignitions were used Sunday and continued through Tuesday.

Helitorch ignitions are planned  in Straight Canyon, Little Table and Langdon Mountain areas for Thursday through Saturday if burning conditions allow it.
