Denny’s Wigwam in Kanab is dealing with some property damage after an eleven year old boy hijacked a skid steer parked behind the building. Police responded to the incident a little after 6:00 p.m. on June 30, and according to their report the boy started up the skid steer after finding the keys were left inside.

The boy drove through a walk-in cooler and plowed through a fence causing an estimated $6,000 worth of damage. He left the area before law enforcement arrived but was later contacted and admitted to taking the skid steer and causing the damage. He will be referred to Juvenile Court for theft and criminal mischief.
